Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2022 – social enterprise award

Our “social enterprise” award, sponsored by Gentian, will be awarded to the social enterprise that has made the most significant difference to its “target beneficiaries”.

Do you know anyone like that? If so, you can name them. Judges are looking for evidence of social and community impact in the Winchester district.

Social enterprises are demonstrating a fantastic entrepreneurial spirit, something we really value at Gentian. We look forward to seeing the nominations for the awards.

The Winchester Business Excellence Awards organized in partnership by the Hampshire Chronicle, Winchester BID and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce are sponsored by Paris Smith, Dutton Gregory, Winchester City Council, Winchester University, Winchester BID, Azets, Ridge & Partners and Gentian. The awards are also supported by Natwest, Little Kitchen and Chesil House and are open to businesses in the Winchester district.

Applications are welcome for companies or companies can nominate themselves.

Once received, entries will be reviewed by our judging panel and may be subject to a ‘mystery shopper’ visit by the category sponsor.

The judges will look to announce the three finalists in each category on Thursday, May 12 in the Hampshire Chronicle and on hampshirechronicle., and then an awards ceremony, will wrap up the awards show on Thursday, June 9.

Winners in each category will receive £250 worth of advertising in the Hampshire Chronicle or on and will also be featured in category winners coverage in the Hampshire Chronicle or at

Award categories include: Entrepreneur Award, Charity Award, Social Enterprise Award, Large Enterprise Award, SME/Independent Business Award, the New Business, the Digital Innovation Award, the Sustainable Business Award and the Service Excellence Award.

The Millennium Egg will continue to be awarded by Winchester City Council to the organization or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Winchester area.

The Business of the Year award will be nominated to the overall winner who will be chosen by the jury from among all the category winners.
