Social enterprise IncomeMax announced as finalist in Nesta’s Rapid Recovery Challenge
INCOMEMAX was announced as one of the six finalists of Nesta’s Quick Recovery Challenge, which aims to improve access to jobs and money for those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic by funding digital solutions.
The east London-based social enterprise, which helps families access unclaimed benefits to reduce household debt and bills, will receive an additional £ 150,000 to scale its new IncomeMax Digital platform to reach 10,000 vulnerable clients by 19e August. The new platform brings together low-income workers, precarious workers and young workers with sources of income through unclaimed benefits, grants and other financial aids such as help with utility bills . The IncomeMax Messenger tool will help vulnerable customers who prefer to speak digitally access expert advice privately.
In December 2020, IncomeMax was announced as one of the fourteen semi-finalists of the Challenge who all received an initial £ 125,000 to develop their solutions to support the most vulnerable access to employment and manage their finances. The two Challenge winners will be decided in September 2021.
