Magheramorne’s social enterprise Clearer Water and its water brand have been acquired by Soilèir Group for an undisclosed sum.

Located on the shores of Larne Lough, the business is known for its ethically bottled water and will come under the Soilèir Group with immediate effect following the purchase of Access Employment Ltd (AEL).

The two entrepreneurs behind the sale are Ross Lazaroo-Hood and Sitki Gelmen, founders of the insurance company Landmark Holding Group.

They have also formed their family charity, the RUSA Foundation, which seeks to promote grassroots sports and build community spirit by providing assistance to underprivileged and underprivileged families.

The duo are no strangers to Larne, with Ross being born and raised on the Seacourt estate.

Landmark is Larne FC’s established lead sponsor, while the RUSA Foundation was behind last year’s appeal for Larne’s laptops with the club’s Brighter Futures charity.

The clearer water is recognized as naturally stone-filtered spring water, drawn from a deep aquifer located in Maghermorne.

Supplying premium bottled water throughout Northern Ireland and with a small footprint in England, Clearer Water is also known for providing training and employment opportunities to socially disadvantaged young people.

Ross and Sitki, co-owners of Clearer Water and co-presidents of The Soilèir Group, said, “In addition to Clearer Water’s unique position and water quality, it has been an inspiration to NI communities in helping people with mixed working abilities. We will establish a wide range of expansion plans, building the business in the short and long term, which will see brand growth and provide more career opportunities for mixed abilities. We want to bring a vision of growth and greater impact to local communities in the town of Larne and throughout NI.

“At Soilèir, we see the growing demand for exceptional bottled water and the acquisition of Clearer will allow the brand to effectively meet customer demands at home in NI and new territories. We will be making some exciting announcements very soon to enhance the Clearer brand and new product lines, so stay tuned and please support everyone involved in the Clearer Water family, from purchasing our water to following us on all our social media platforms.
